RUBBER CURRY COMBS
Round or oval rubber curries have traditionally
been used in a circular motion over the neck, shoulders, body and rump
(not the bony legs or face) to loosen dead hair, lift dirt to the
surface of the coat, distribute the body oils in the hair, and
stimulate circulation. There are many different tools today which can
accomplish the same goals. |

METAL & PLASTIC
CURRY COMBS
These longer-toothed curries are rarely used on the
horse's body; more often they are used carefully on the mane and tail,
or simply swept across the other brushes while grooming to help keep
them
clear of hair and dirt. |
Metal Curry
Spring steel teeth do an excellent job of clearing brushes
of dirt & hair.

DANDY BRUSHES
Dandies are used in short, vigorous strokes all
over the body and legs to lift and sweep away what the curry or
massage tool has lifted. They range from a Mexican Whisk dandy, with
very stiff, coarse bristles, to the long soft bristles of a Flicker or
Whisker brush. A dandy brush is sometimes used on very thick manes and
tails as well, but never on the head |

even the head. |
